Welcome, fellow travelers, to my musical realm! Feel free to explore...
You will find that each of my songs is deeply tied to a story. With my singing and playing, I seek to create mystical and mythical journeys guided by an acoustic heart, which is the mountain dulcimer… This music is meant to nurture hope and affirm the goodness and beauty of life. My style incorporates a Romantic blend of medieval, Celtic, folk, and world music along with newer influences.
In live performance, my dulcimers are heralds of quiet joy, healing, and life well lived. They are especially suited to small, intimate gatherings and events, but they may also be effectively accommodated in larger venues.
I would be happy to musically accompany a special occasion in your life, to share the essence of the music that I love with others in a performance setting, or to teach about the mountain dulcimer and how it can be a source of personal enrichment.
The above pages will explain and demonstrate my approach to each of these outreaches and provide you with further information so we can explore how my music and instruction may fit into your vision.

ONLINE WORKSHOP
Sing of Mary
Sunday, May 7, 2023
1-2:30 p.m. Central Daylight Time in Zoom
NEW MOUNTAIN DULCIMER WORKSHOP
May is the month that traditionally celebrates the flowering of the year as well as the Blessed Virgin Mary. Therefore, the song selections in my next workshop highlight Marian melodies from a variety of musical traditions: a shape note- melody called “Pleading Savior” (also known as “Sing of Mary, Pure and Lowly”), one the 13th century Spanish Cantigas de Santa Maria (“Cantiga #384: A que por mui gran fremosura”), the medieval chant “Gaude Virgo Salutata,” and a traditional French melody that came to be known as “Ô Vierge Marie” (“Immaculate Mary” or “The Lourdes Hymn”). Arrangements will be suitable for players at the intermediate level. Registration will be $15 per participant. Please bring your capo along! I will send you a Zoom meeting link and a PayPal link once you RSVP by messaging me on Facebook or emailing me at comeaujd@gmail.com.

It now continues to host live-streamed events online. Workshops, concerts, and jams are affordable and available to anyone, anywhere in the world." I am returning with 5 new classes on a variety of themes, and this festival promises to be as diverse and exciting as ever in its offerings!
