Welsh Wonders:
Songs for Saint David's Day
Sunday, March 1, 2026, 1-2:30 p.m. CST in Zoom
NEW MTN. DULCIMER WORKSHOP (Sun., March 1, 2026): Although a Celtic nation like Ireland and Scotland, Wales and its musical traditions are less well-known than their other Celtic counterparts. Therefore, to honor Saint David’s Day, the feast day of the national patron saint of Wales, I am delighted to share with you a winsome assortment of Welsh melodies for mountain dulcimer: the tragicomical “Sosban Fach” (the “saucepan song”), the hauntingly beautiful “Lisa Lân,” the soothing love song “Ar Lan y Môr,” and the favorite lullaby “Suo Gân.” Arrangements will be appropriate for the intermediate level. Please bring a capo! Registration will be $15 (or more) per participant. I will send you a Zoom meeting link and a PayPal link (or Square invoice upon request) once you RSVP by messaging me on Facebook or emailing me at [email protected].
