ONLINE MTN. DULCIMER WORKSHOP
Harpans Kraft: The Spirit of Scandinavia
Sunday, July 26, 2026, 1-2:30 p.m. CDT in Zoom
NEW MTN. DULCIMER WORKSHOP (Sun., July 26, 2026, 1-2:30 p.m. CDT): The mountain dulcimer participates in the heritage of the harp, an instrument that accompanied the songs of David in the Bible and also became a weapon for subduing monsters in Scandinavian legend. My next workshop pays tribute to “harpans kraft” (“the power of the harp”) through music of faith, family, and fantasy. Our selections include the hauntingly beautiful hymn “Lær meg å kjenne” (“Teach Me to Know Your Ways”), my original instrumental “Annika’s Dance,” and the ballad “Villeman og Magnhild” (new and improved arrangement). Arrangements will be appropriate for the intermediate level. Please bring a capo and be prepared for some gentle retuning! Registration will be $15 (or more) per participant. I will send you a Zoom meeting link and a PayPal link (or Square invoice upon request) once you RSVP by messaging me on Facebook or emailing me at [email protected].
Also, please see my "Letter to Friends Regarding Recordings of Workshops" (4-28-2024).
